To support our ultrasound inventory, we carry an extensive selection of probes which we provide to hospitals, clinics, biomedical engineering departments and service providers all over Europe. Our selection covers convex, linear, trans-vaginal, cardiac and much more from all major original equipment manufacturers.
The probe, also known as a transducer, plays a vital part in Ultrasound Diagnostics. In short, the transducer is the device which converts the electrical signal to sound pulses and converts the pulse into an electrical signal. The electrical signal is then processed by the Ultrasound system, creating the image.
This is how we ensure you the best possible ultrasound probes in the market.
If you are looking for reliable supplier which can provide you with high quality ultrasound probes, look no further. Our in-house testing facilities make it possible for us to test and verify the probe before they are included in our inventory and shipped to a customer.
This results in a reliable product that meets your expectations.
How do we ensure that a pre-owned probe is fully functional? It’s a good question - this is what our technicians do, in order for us to deliver a product you can count on.
When testing used transducers, there are a several important factors to consider and focus on.
At AGITO Medical, our technicians begin the process by visually inspecting the transducer for any damage on the lens, housing, cables and/or the connector. This is an important first step, since damages such as punctures, cracks and cuts can be an infection hazard, as these areas will be difficult to clean properly. Damage to the lens, housing cable or connector can pose an electrical safety risk when it is in clinical use.
Then we we do an electrical safety test in accordance with IEC-62353:2014. During the electrical safety test, we check for electrical leakage with the so-called Sink Leakage Test, testing the leakage current which would flow into the patient from an external source, with the Mains on Applied Part test (MAP).
Lastly, we test the functionality of the transducer by utilizing our CIRS 040GSE phantom. With this phantom we can check for, but not limited to:
- Uniformity
- Depth of Penetration
- Vertical & Horizontal distance measurement
- Axial and Lateral Resolution
- Contrast Resolution
- Grayscale Contrast Sensitivity
- Dead Zone Assessment
The results of the functional test, is then compared to the recommendations on test results from AIUM Association.
We handle all our probes with care and dedication.
Whether it is transportation of equipment we have bought from a hospital site or transportation of equipment we have sold; we always make sure to handle it with care, dedication and the right tools.
From our many years of experience in supplying the healthcare industry with used medical equipment, we know the importance of a responsive and reliable service. For that reason, we offer same day shipment on all probes and next day shipment on all ultrasound probes.
How much does Ultrasound Probes cost?
Determining the exact price of an ultrasound transducer is a difficult task, since the price depends on several factors such as type, age and supply and demand. As mentioned above, our selection of ultrasound probes covers convex, linear, trans-vaginal, cardiac and much more.
